I'm lost.
I have my stickies. I'm trying to plot and plan. How in the world does one do that?
I'm nanowrimoing slowly. If I get to merely 20,000 words by Nov. 30, I will dye my hijab bright turquoise. (I'm such a fake. I love bright turquoise hijabs. Have 3 already.)
I'm going so slow because I'm writing the way I did way back when. Nice and slow and literary. Scenes. Small scenes and big whamo ones.
I've got Scrivener. I love that cork board thingie. But I can't really seem to plot it out on it. I need a big foam board or something that makes me look like I'm doing one of those corporate presentations to a room of suits.
All my recognized, published writing have always just been whipped up. But they were all short. I tried to whip up a novel. It didn't work that way even though the premise got me two full requests out of 5 queries and sample pages sent. They liked the writing. But the story wasn't totally together.
I need to learn to plot everything out. Then arrange my scenes just so. Then fill in to cue the flow.
Sob.
On a happier note, I'm actually writing consistently now while working full-time. How I do it is still kind of a mystery even to me but let's say it involves too much caffeine and a husband who cares. And picks up the slack so kindly. :)
