untitled. and a revolution.

She re-reads her last post and wrinkles her nose. The horrific irony: a claimed cure for writer's block followed by a huge long stretch of no actual writing showing up on dis here blog of hers.

Will she never learn? Really: ? ? ?

Heheh. Actually, I have been writing. :)
-------------------------------------------

I know we're not supposed to discuss politics at the blogging table, but my mind is very much preoccupied by the events in the Middle East.

I'm hopeful.

A true revolution stretching across the ME will mean a lot of changes. Changes for us over here as well because our governments have been very involved in keeping dictators and despots in power over there.

Here's a riveting music video on the Egyptian revolution:

(Apparently, there's also an English translation vid floating somewhere but it's just so beautiful as it is. The subtitles detract from the pure joy and hope emanating from these souls caught on cam.)

---------------------------------

The big time silence on this is confounding. As humans, do we only realize historic events after the fact?*

*Although, 'tis true that the Al-Jazeera Online English viewership has shot up over 1000% - half of that from U.S. users. Faux news is losing out.

  1. I'm hopeful, too.
There are a lot of skeptics out there, though - painting very scary pictures. I prefer optimism.

  2. Me too. (Though, it's hard at these times when one hears about frightening developments.)

I continue being hopeful because when the status quo is unbearable, that's the only way to go.
